3/21/2017 is a date that I have been waiting for a long long time. This is the release date of the next highly anticipated chapter in the Mass Effect universe, Mass Effect: Andromeda.

As those of you who have read my short bio on my blog as well as my micro review’s of the Mass Effect trilogy know that this franchise have a special place in my heart, from the moment I set my foot on the Normandy almost ten years ago. So you can imagine how much anticipation and longing I have for this game.

Much plot and other in-game info are still yet not known. It is taking place in a completely different galaxy from the previous trilogy (Andromeda galaxy) and you’re name is either Scott or Sara Ryder “the pathfinder”, where your mission in short is to find a new habitable home for the human population. It seems that the main characters of this game are twins so the sex you don’t pick could be following you during the entire game, or that you switch between the characters (maybe…?) However the opportunity to choose and play as a male or a female Ryder looks to be present though as it did in the trilogy with male and female Shepard. However no opportunity to play as a different race looks to be the case which I feel is good because if you are helping humanity to find a new home and doing so as the leader of the expedition, it is only natural that you should be human.

The main antagonist in this chapter seems to be someone called “Archon” and is one of the new races called the Kett which sounds very sinister and I’m very excited to find out more about my new enemy.

The squadmates (presented below) that has been presented so far is six in total; Cora Harper and Liam Costa which is a female and a male human, Peebee who is an asari, a krogan named Drack, a female turian (yay!) called Vetra and Jaal that represent a new race called the angara race. The characters and squadmates looks spot on so far though I have a little problem with Peebee’s character as she looks a bit as a hippy asari (yeah I know what I said!) but I hope that I’m wrong, maybe she will be my favorite one? Only time will tell.

The transportation options in the game is the main ship called Tempest (as the name of a sub machine gun in the Mass Effect trilogy) and the Nomad which is supposed to be the ground transportation as the Mako and Hammerhead were in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Both of the transportation vehicles looks awesome and I can’t wait to try exploring and trying them out.

So to summarize my reflections and thoughts of Andromeda I fell just positive vibes. A solid story, sinister antagonist, cool looking squadmates and two human twins to be the main characters. It’s going to be interesting to see how the impact in Mass Effect trilogy play any role at all in this game, for me it could be fun addition to have a small connection to the old games.

3/21/2017 can’t come fast enough! I'm so excited!
